Local Impact is how The Daylesford Foundation responds to need that falls outside our school and scholarship programs. When the usual systems fall short, we step in.
Most of this support reaches people through trusted local partners. Sometimes we respond directly.
- 2,000+food and fuel vouchers since 2020
- $62,390in food and fuel vouchers since 2020
- 4people kept from becoming homeless since June 2026, through rental support
What Local Impact covers
We fund practical help that keeps families steady and keeps young people connected to school, work and community.
Food and fuel
Vouchers for families going through a hard time, and the Good Grub Club’s Thursday lunches and community pantry.
A roof overhead
Rental support and help with arrears, so families can stay in their homes.
Emergency relief
Household goods, medical costs and back-to-school support for people in crisis, through the LIFT program.
School lunches
Lunches for students in Clunes, through Clunes Neighbourhood House.
Getting on the road
In 2022 we donated a car to the L2P learner driver program, so young people without a car can log their driving hours.
Anything else that matters
One-off support when a need doesn’t fit anywhere else.
How help reaches people
Through trusted local partners
Our partners already know the families who need help, so support arrives quickly and close to home.
- Central Highlands Rural Health: emergency relief and the LIFT program
- Child and Family Services (CAFS): rental support
- Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre and the Good Grub Club
- Clunes Neighbourhood House: school lunches
Directly, when a need is brought to us
Sometimes a school or partner brings us a need that no program covers. We have:
- bridged childcare fees so children could keep attending the Daylesford Community Childcare Centre
- fitted specialised equipment to a vehicle for a person with a disability, and organised funds and local tradespeople to repair a family’s home
- sourced, serviced and provided a car for a mother going through hardship, keeping her family connected to school
Their work directly complements our own, and together we have been able to reach community members who might otherwise fall through the gaps.
Need help?
Our support is arranged through schools and partner organisations, not by application. Talk to your school, or contact Central Highlands Rural Health on (03) 5321 6500 and ask about the LIFT program.
