The Woodcutter Trailer is intended to be utilised for community group led property clean-up of properties impacted by the June 2021 storm and flood event, specifically for those experiencing hardship, throughout the Central Highlands region.
The Daylesford Foundation and Trentham Lions Club have decided to launch the trailer at Woodcutting Working Bees held at the Trentham Lions Club Wood Yard in Little Hampton. The Trentham Lions Club and The Daylesford Foundation provide free firewood to community members within the Hepburn shire who are experiencing hardship or vulnerability.
The Working Bees have been scheduled for the second Saturday of each month throughout the daylight savings months, with places limited to 12 participants at each Working Bee. Working Bees will operate from 9.00am till 12 noon on each of the following dates:
- Saturday, March 11th 2023
- Saturday, April 8th 2023
- Saturday, May 13th 2023
On the day, Working Bee participants will be required to register as honorary Trentham Lions Club members for the period of the working bee for insurance purposes.
The Hepburn Shire Council has agreed to support the Working Bees with provision of a portable toilet, refreshments and an onsite timber professional to support training and OH&S oversight for the duration of the Working Bee.
